Missions

And Jesus spoke to them saying, “All authority has given to me in Heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing the in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20.

The Cherokee Hills church of Christ mission program dedicates itself to providing the truth and love of God to all who will listen. Language, wealth, and nationality do not matter because the love of God transcends all barriers except silence. For many years we have supported and sponsored missionary efforts around the world and will continue with all the ability God grants us.

We have been active in the Prison Ministry for many years. We will continue to be involved in the work at OSP in McAlester. Additionally, several Cherokee Hills men teach Bible class at El Reno Federal Prison every Thursday evening. Last year we provided support in three foreign missionary fields. In New Zealand, we have helped to support Chris and Melinda Miller since 1982. The work has produced many native preachers and teachers of the gospel and helped spread the good news of God in the South Pacific. In the Phillippines, Charles Smith has established three Bible Colleges, produced native missionaries and established many congregations with our assistance. Dr. Winston Bolt manages a Bible College in Indonesia which produces native missionaries and many new congregations have been established. In 2012, we supported fifteen full time missionaries/Bible college students in the Phillipines and supported six Bible College students and six full time missionaries in Indonesia.

The goals of Mission work are”

1. Insure that the teaching of God’s Word to the lost is accomplished with the most efficient use of funds available.
2. Insure that the congregation is aware of mission efforts and their results.
3. Increase volunteer participation in the El Reno Federal Prison evangelism effort.
